Above-Ground & In-Ground Vinyl-Lined Swimming Pools

Above-ground swimming pools are the best choice for people wishing to own a pool, but are on a tighter budget.  Less permanent than in-ground swimming pools, these types of pools can be drained and moved to another location if needed.  Above-ground pools are also easier to install, often coming in the form of prefabricated kits. They can be installed in a relatively short amount of time, leaving plenty of time for swimming enjoyment.  The depths of these pools can go up to 7 feet on some models, and can range greatly in size.  If you choose, you can install a deck all the way around the pool, or partially around the pool for convenience, safety and/or appearance.

Structurally, in-ground vinyl-lined pools are a lot like above-ground swimming pools, but have the design and appeal of an in-ground swimming pool. The reinforced walls are lined with vinyl, making it cheaper than other in-ground pool designs, but not as durable with a vinyl liner that must be replaced about every 10 years.  Since it is necessary to excavate your property, this type of pool is more costly than an above-ground pool. The most common shape for in-ground vinyl-lined swimming pools is the rectangle, however other shapes are available in today’s swimming pool market.  In addition to shape, pool owners have a wide selection for colors, patterns, and other pool accessory options.
