Other Less-Common Types of Swimming Pool Designs

Lap pools – These types of swimming pools are typically chosen by people who would like to invest in a pool mainly for the sake of swimming for fitness.  These pools are long and narrow, making it a good option for people with narrow pieces of property, or for people who would rather install their pool on a narrow section beside their house, rather than in their back yard.

Integrated spa with pool – A good choice for people who like to entertain, have large families and want a pool with a little something for everyone, or for those who enjoy a special treat in addition to swimming.  Sometimes you will see a spa separate from the pool, but in the case of an integrated spa with a pool, the pool and spa will be a part of the same unit, with the smaller spa section being separated by a barrier.  The two will also share the same heating and circulation systems, giving the owner a little less work what maintaining both.

Indoor swimming pools – People choose to enclose their swimming pools in a section off of their home, especially when they live in a colder climate, where swimming outdoors may not be a possibility for most of the year, but who value the opportunity to stay fit with swimming.  Another advantage to enclosing your swimming pool is that it is less likely for people to use it without your permission, you will not need to skim nature out of your pool as often as you would have to with an outdoor swimming pool.
