Pool accessories

The options pool owners have to accessorize and customize their pools is an endless list.  Some of the more popular choices for pool accessories are listed below:

Lighting
Not only is it safe and recommended to have lighting for your swimming pool and pool area, it can also be aesthetically pleasing.  Many options are available for pool lighting.  You can go with the common halogen or incandescent bulbs, or you can get more creative with fiber-optic lighting, which can come in different colors or various patterns of colors t light up your nighttime swimming pool.  Fiber-optic lighting is easily installed, since there is not electrical current to worry about

Water features
Check with the designer and builder of your pool to find out what kind of water features can be added to your swimming pool.  Two popular water features that people choose to add on are waterfalls and fountains.  They can create a lovely focal point for your pool area, and the sound of waterfalls and fountains can be a tranquil experience.

Swim-up bars
These are fun accessories for the pool owner who likes to entertain!  They are beverage stations that people inside the pool can swim up to for a beverage without exiting the pool.  They typically include some underwater stools and a dry counter for placing drinks.  The bar can be surrounded on all sides by pool water, or they can be installed on the side of the pool where the bartender can stay dry.

Benches and shelves
Active swimmers and those who use the pool for relaxation can all enjoy an underwater bench for those times of sitting calmly in the pool without having to get completely out of the pool.  For tanning purposes out of the pool, but close enough to take a quick dip, some pool owners have installed what is called a tanning shelf
