Solar Pool Heaters
Solar pool heaters are pool heaters that use the energy from the sun to warm the pool water.
Solar pool heaters are the most energy efficient and least expensive to operate. Since the energy from the sun is free, so are the operating costs of the solar pool heater. Solar pool heaters are obviously the most earth-friendly of the three main types of pool heaters. Many new homeowners who maybe move into a house with a pre-existing swimming pool that is fortunate enough to come with a gas or electric pool heater, choose to add a solar pool heater to their existing system to create a “hybrid” type of pool heating system. Solar pool heaters work year-round in southern climates, and extend the pool season for colder, northern climates. Popular myth is that there is not enough solar energy in colder northernmost climates to make solar heating a wise choice. This is not true. Many states even offer rebates for pool owners who choose to heat their pools with the use of solar energy. Earth friendly, energy efficient, and to you, little to no cost for operating expenses. Solar pool heaters require the least maintenance of the three most used pool water heaters and outlast other pool heaters, as they have no moving parts that can break down or corrode. Solar pool heaters use panels to warm the water, and your existing pool pump. Cool water flows from the bottom up through collector tubes in the panels and the water is heated as it flows through to the top of the panels. Warm water is returned to the pool. Solar pool heaters work well for above ground pools and in-ground pools. Solar pool heaters offer the quietest, safest, and cleanest source of energy.
