Heat Pump Pool Heaters

Heat pumps heat pool water using electricity.  The electric run machine captures heat and distributes it through the pool as opposed to creating its own heat.

Heat pumps heat the pool water more efficiently than a gas pool heater.  Obviously they do not operate was efficiently as solar pool heaters that are able to use the energy from the sun to create heat.  Due to the fact that heat pumps are more efficient to operate than gas pool heaters, they are known to be more expensive than gas pool heaters, however they are also know to last longer than gas pool heaters with proper care and maintenance.  These factors make some consumers look past their higher price.  It is recommended that a heat pump be installed by a professional, as proper installation will better guarantee optimum efficiency during operating.  Heat pumps also perform efficiently as long as the air surrounding the pool is above 45-50 degrees.  Since most people choose to use their outdoor pools during the warmer seasons, this generally does not become an issue.
