Pool Brushes Swimming pool brushes are a very important part of pool maintenance supplies. They can be made up of nylon or stainless steel bristles. There are many sizes to choose from, consider the type of pool you have and your needs. Among the many types and sizes of swimming pool brushes available on the market today are hand scrubbers about 5" long to pole handled brushes ranging in length of 12' to 36' with 18" to 36" wide bristle brushes. Many of the poles have long telescopic handles attached for brushing a swimming pool without having to actually enter the pool. Pool brushes for can be made up of nylon bristles and are generally used for every day cleaning of all swimming pool types, or bristle brushes made up of stainless steel can be used for concrete, gunite and shotcrete pools to remove stubborn stains and dirt, algae, and scale. Pool brushes can also come with bristle heads with curved ends to help reach into smaller areas of the swimming pool. There are flexible brush heads with approximate 20" wide scrubbing path taking on the contour of the pool surface. This unique brush head can be used on vinyl, fiberglass and concrete pools. Also available today are corner brushes used for cleaning around light fixtures, jets and stairs. Stainless steel brushes should never be used on fiberglass or vinyl pool surfaces as they will tear or scratch these surfaces, requiring a replacement vinyl liner.
