Pool Brushing

Swimming poolbrushing removes microscopic matter from your pool walls and the floor. Brushing to loosen the matter allows it to be suspended in the water, and killed off by the chlorine or bromine chemical used in your pool.  Routine maintenance brushing for your pool 2 to 3 times a week is recommended.

Using a wall to floor sweeping motion is a good technique.  The shallow end is started first, brushing towards the deep end, using the proper brush for your pool type.  Brushing takes about 15 minutes, the task of brushing should be done a couple of times a week, consider how much use your pool is receiving and whether there is landscaping or construction near by.  The day before your routine vacuuming is an ideal time to brush the walls and floor of your swimming pool to loosen any of the matter, mineral deposits adhering to their surfaces.  After you've done your brushing, allow your filtering system to run thus, removing the matter. Turn off the equipment for a few hours or over-night.  Leaving the equipment off allows any debris left behind to settle to the bottom to be vacuumed.  Neglecting the swimming pool brushing can lead to an algae problem. Brushing would then have to been to be done daily or even perhaps multiple times a day.  Brushing prevents algae and mineral deposits to form and extends the life of your pool.
