Aquapedia → Swimming Pool Fences
Swimming Pool Fences Permanent or removable structures installed around the perimeter of a swimming pool to prevent people and animals from entering the pool area and accidental drowning from occurring. There are a variety of swimming pool fences on the market today, ranging in price, materials, and options. In most areas, it is law that if a fence is not installed around the property where a swimming pool is located, a swimming pool fence must be installed around the immediate pool area. Check with your local town office to find out any specific pool fence regulations and guidelines prior to installing a swimming pool fence. Although many pool owners have a fence surrounding their entire property, they choose to install an additional swimming pool fence to protect the people and pets that are on the immediate property. It is always better to be safe than sorry later that additional fencing was not installed. For additional security, most pool owners choose to add a pool alarm to the gate of the pool fence to alert people nearby that the pool area is being entered when it should not be.
