Pool Water Test Kits
Pool water test kits are the kits sold to test the pool’s water and determine its balance (calcium hardness, total alkalinity, pH).
Pool water test kits can use tablet or liquid reagents to test the pH and chlorine levels in a pool on a regular basis. If the tablet or liquid reagents have expired, do not use them when testing the pool water, as you will get an inaccurate reading, and then end up dumping expensive chemicals into the pool water unnecessarily, wasting money, and possibly throwing off the balance of the pool water even more. The test kit should be rinsed prior to testing the pool water. Fill the test kit with water that is at least 20cm below the surface of the pool water. After you are done testing, make sure to empty the test kit contents anywhere but inside the swimming pool. As long as the pH and chlorine levels are maintained, pool owners only need to check calcium hardness, total alkalinity, and dissolved solids every month or two – unless experiencing unexplained pool water problems.
