Winter Pool Covers
Winter pool covers prevent leaves, dirt, and debris from entering a swimming pool that is closed for the cold weather seasons.
Winter pool covers can be purchased for both above and in-ground swimming pools. They prevent debris, algae, as well as animals from entering the pool during the closed, cold weather seasons, making the opening of the pool in the spring hassle-free. When purchasing a winter pool cover, look for the “scrim”. The scrim refers to the tightness of the weave in the pool cover. The higher the scrim number, the tighter the weave, making it a better winter pool cover. Mesh winter pool covers are available to make removing the cover easier in the spring, as it allows rain water to pass through, so no heavy lifting of a winter pool cover filled with water. The higher quality the winter cover, the less likely the cover will develop gaps or tears during the winter, in turn making the opening season less time-consuming, and in need of less chemicals that can be quite costly – which makes a high quality winter pool cover a good investment.
