AquapediaShock Treatment

Shock Treatment

Shock treatment is the process of quickly raising level of chlorinators to eliminate a pool water problem and breaking up contaminates, making the chlorine in the water better able to do its job.

Pools should be shocked about once a week during much warmer weather, more frequent use or additional swimmers, or during heavy rainfall.  Shock your pool once a week under normal conditions.  A swimming pool must be shocked during the opening and closing (winterization) processes as well.  Purchase pool shock treatment, which is often called “shocker”.  Make sure to read all directions carefully and use the amount suggested for the size of your swimming pool.  It is suggested that as part of routine maintenance pools be shocked during the evening so that the chlorine levels have a chance to return to normal levels by morning.
