Pool Paint

Paint is one of the most typical types of pool surfaces.  The three main types of pool paint are chlorinated rubber based, epoxy, and water-based acrylic.

Rubber-based pool paint is inexpensive, relatively easy to use and apply, and comes in a variety of colors.  Rubber-based paint will last about 4-5 years. Epoxy paint is more durable than rubber-based paint, lasting between 7-10 years. This also makes it a more expensive pool paint. Epoxy pool paint will not be affected by the sun’s ultraviolet rays, automatic pool cleaners and harsh pool chemicals.  Water-based acrylic pool paint is usually that pool paint of choice for commercial pools that are repainted on a regular basis, as it is the cheaper of the pool paints and only lasts 2-3 years.  It is easy to apply and easy to clean.  Whichever pool paint is used to paint a pool, the manufacturers directions should be followed carefully for best results.
