Swimming Pool Ladders and Steps

Swimming pool ladders and steps assist swimmers and bathers to go into and exit an in-ground or above-ground swimming pool safely.

Some pool steps and most pool ladders can be removed from a swimming pool if necessary.  In-ground swimming pools are sometimes built with step already included as a part o the pool design, such as with fiberglass or concrete pools and steps all in the same design.  In this situation, the steps can not be easily removed.  If the steps in a pool are an add-on option, they can certainly be removed and replaced for whatever reason.  Ladders leading into an in-ground swimming pool are usually bolted to the wall of the pool.  By loosening the bolt, the ladder can and should be removed and replaced if any parts are damaged or corroded to avoid potential injury to swimmers and bathers.  Above-ground pools usually have A-frame ladders that can and should be folded up when not in use to avoid children from entering the pool when nobody is around.  If an above-ground pool is surrounded by a pool deck, the ladder could be bolted right to the deck, rather than an A-frame ladder.  Pools ladders are sometimes replaced with steps to help people such as young children, elderly, or people with certain disabilities enter and exit the swimming pool with more ease.
